After the recent leaks, the 2020 Suzuki Swift has finally been launched by the carmaker in Japan. The facelifted model has received a limited design upgrade, which is likely to be offered in the India-spec model.
There’s a slightly different grille with a honeycomb-mesh pattern and chrome trim, mildly reshaped headlight units, and a more aggressive-looking front bumper. New alloy wheels and a few new color options round off the changes to the 2020 Swift's exterior. The hatchback is now available in new Orange and Yellow exterior body colors specifically for the Japanese market.
Inside, the Suzuki Swift facelift now comes with all-black interiors complemented by an all-black upholstery, touchscreen infotainment system, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and twin-pod instrument cluster. The Japanese carmaker has also added new safety technology called Suzuki Safety Support. This includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping assist.
The new Suzuki Swift facelift is offered in both hybrid and mild-hybrid powertrains. The Japanese-spec Swift facelift hatchback gets a 1.2-liter Dual-jet petrol mill, producing 89 bhp and 118 Nm via a choice of AMT, CVT, and a 5-speed manual gearbox. The hybrid version of Swift offers a battery pack of 0.3 kWh which gives an additional boost of 13 bhp and 30 Nm. A hybrid version of the Swift with a 0.3 kWh battery pack that delivers an additional 13 bhp and 30 Nm of peak torque. The India-spec version of Swift is expected to get a BSVI 1.2-liter Dual-jet petrol engine which is also seen on the Dzire facelift that produces 89 bhp and 113Nm.
