The team that started with two technicians and one van in 1996, when Lucio decided to establish his own team, has come a long way. After nine years in 125cc class, moving on to 250cc class in 2002, the LCR Team has been competing in the MotoGP class since 2006. In 2019, LCR entered the MotoE Category.Cecchinello’s team has obtained a total of 85 podiums and 24 victories over the years in all the categories that it has competed in and is still committed to being a professional, multicultural, hardworking team with full factory support from Honda in the past years. In 2021, his fifth year in MotoGP, Takaaki Nakagami will be riding a full factory spec bike, alongside new teammate Alex Marquez. Nakagami’s fourth season in the premier class saw him improve even further, placing inside the Top 10 in every race with the exception of the Teruel, where he earned a first pole position, and Valencia GP. However, that first podium place in MotoGP still eludes him, will 2021 be his year?In 2021, Alex Márquez will continue being a Honda rider, this time with the LCR Honda Castrol Team in the year that marks its 25th anniversary of participation in the MotoGP World Championship. On his first outing in the premier class last year, Alex claimed back-to-back second places in the French and Aragon GPs. He narrowly missed out on the Rookie of the Year award, ending 14th overall. 2021 sees him remain with Honda, but he moves to the LCR team as he looks to continue his development under the guidance of Lucio Cecchinello.
