Toyota Fortuner, Toyota's flagship SUV in the Asian market, has received a stylish facelift, with a new front and rear appearance, a powerful engine, and an updated features list. Ever since the debut of its 2nd generation, this is the official facelift Toyota has launched within the past 5 years. The new Fortuner comes with 2 variants and 2 different design features, namely the standard model and special ‘Legender’ model.
The exterior design of the base model has been enhanced with a larger front grille with a black horizontal mesh pattern and silver bumper strips. It also comes installed with newly designed slim headlights with LED daytime running lights, new taillights, and newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels. On the other hand, the Legender model gets more aerodynamic enhancements like a split front grille, a redesigned front, and rear bumper, as well as the newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels and two-tone roof.
The cabin, on the other hand, remains largely unchanged. However, there is an addition of an 8-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other key additions include a 360-degree camera, wireless charger and activated kick door with kick sensor. The new Fortuner also comes fully equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, a complete list of advanced safety technologies, for example, Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Alert.
The new 2.8-liter engine on the Fortuner has been advanced to give a maximum output of 201 HP and a flat torque of 500 Nm from 1,600 – 2,800 rpm, a gain of 27 HP and 50 Nm over the pre-facelift model. The SUV comes equipped with Cruise Control System and Sensors in 6 positions for surrounding detection. A balance shaft is also added to minimize engine noise and vibration that can be passed to the cabin.
Since the first introduction in 15 years ago, Toyota Fortuner has been very well received by SUV lovers and continuously recognized as number one in its segment. The Toyota Fortuner facelift is priced between 1,319,000 THB - 1,839,000 THB (Nrs 50.29L- Nrs 70.10L)
