After a long wait, Hyundai India finally launched the new Santro which improves upon the old Santro by a wide margin and carries the same family appeal that made it one of the best hatchbacks of its time. Now, while the tall boy is already on its way into our country, let us take a moment to go over some of its information. Here are 5 things about the new Hyundai Santro:
The new Santro is wider and taller than the outgoing model and is powered by a
1.1-litre
petrol engine that makes 69 BHp and 99NM of torque.

The new Santro is the first Hyundai car globally to get an automated manual transmission (AMT) that was developed in-house.
Hyundai Santro takes safety seriously which is why the car is offering anti-lock braking system across all variants, a segment first, along with electronic brake distribution. The base variant, Santro DLite, gets a single, driver-side airbag. The top-end Asta has dual airbags for the front occupants of the car.
Another segment first for the new Santro is a 17.64cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto inbuilt, rear AC vents, and voice-recognition.
The new Santro is built on a new chassis that is made of advanced high-tensile strength steel, helping the car achieve prominent static and dynamic stiffness with improved structural connectivity.
