Honda’s flagship adventurer, the Africa Twin, has received a makeover for MY2020 and its coming next week in the European market. The upcoming adventure motorcycle will continue to be offered in two variants – standard and Adventure with significant cosmetic and mechanical updates.
The standard Africa Twin variant gets a shorter windscreen, smaller engine bash plate, conventional wire-spoke wheels, tubeless tyres, and a new flatter seat design. Surprisingly, the standard variant of the motorcycle misses out the pannier mounts.
The Adventure variant, on the other hand, gets a taller windscreen, an extra pair of LED lights integrated just under the twin LED headlamp setup, a bigger and wider engine bash plate, pannier mounts at the rear and a cross-spoke wheel design with tubeless tyres.
To meet the Euro V emission norms, Honda has increased the engine capacity of the parallel-twin motor from 998cc to 1084cc. As before, both versions of the Africa Twin will be offered with either a manual transmission or Honda’s DCT gearbox.
Mark your calendars for September 23, the new 2020 Honda Africa Twin is coming!
