The all-new 2019 Renault Kwid facelift has officially gone on sales in the Indian market India today at an aggressive pricing of INR 2.83 lakh to 4.84 lakh.  The Renault Kwid facelift now comes with some major visual changes along with a host of new and updated features, and now, the Climber option is the top-spec variant in the Kwid’s line-up.

The all-new Renault Kwid continues with its SUV-inspired design with wheel arch claddings, side decals, muscular multi-spoke 14-inch wheels along with a high ground clearance of 184 mm. Exterior highlights include a new front fascia with split headlamp design which houses the LED DRLs and turn indicators. The lower unit houses the main headlamp.  Also on offer is a three-split grille. The car also gets faux skid plates, new bumpers, blacked-out B-pillar and contrast colored ORVMs.

The all-new Kwid features a dual-tone dashboard and chrome interior accents to match the dual-tone exterior of the car. An optional sporty orange and white fabric upholstery with striped embossing, or premium crossway fabric upholstery with a red outline, is also available. The Kwid Climber gets sporty orange door trim accents and a sporty steering wheel.

The all-new Kwid is equipped with a fully Digital Instrument Cluster with LED illumination and sportier graphics. It also gets a first-in-class 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Video Playback, and Voice Recognition. On top of that, the all-new Kwid is also loaded with a first-in-class reverse parking camera with guidelines. It also comes equipped with front and rear 12V power sockets.

The compact hatchback offers best-in-class cabin storage spaces of more than 24 litres. This offers space for storing a mobile, wallet, etc. in the front console, a new glove box, a parcel shelf, and bottle holders. It also offers best-in-class boot space of 279 litres, which is expandable up to 620 litres. The all-new Kwid measures 3731 mm long, and 1579 mm wide (including mirrors) and has a wheelbase of 2422mm.

The all-new Kwid is compliant with all the current safety requirements for the Indian market with the side crash norms and upcoming pedestrian crash norms. The several active and passive safety features include driver-side airbag with an option of a passenger-side airbag, ABS with EBD, driver & co-driver seat belt reminder, over-speed alert, standard across all variants. In addition, the AMT variants of the new Renault Kwid range comes equipped with the essential Traffic assist and all-new silver streak LED DRLs function as a position lamp.

Powertrain options on the Renault Kwid facelift include the same BS4 compliant 0.8-litre petrol engine and 1.0-litre petrol engine. These engines are paired to a five-speed manual transmission as standard while the 1.0-litre unit would be available with an AMT unit too. The smaller three-cylinder petrol engine develops 53 bhp of power at 5678 rpm and 72 Nm of peak torque at 4386 rpm. The bigger 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine delivers 67 bhp of power at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 91 Nm at 4250 rpm.

In addition to an all-new Zanskar Blue colour, the Kwid facelift will be available in five colour options – Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze, and Electric Blue.
