Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, “MG Motor India is committed to accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly, next-generation mobility solutions over the long term in India. To achieve this goal, we aim to establish our technology leadership and further consolidate our position in the Indian automotive space. Our presence at this year’s Auto Expo with a focus on future technologies for India is a testimony to this commitment. All MG products at the Expo operate at the intersection of our core focus on innovation, customer experience and sustainability-led development.”

MG Motor will be showcasing the Vision-i concept MPV (multi-purpose vehicle). The teaser image released by the company shows striking similarities to the Roewe Vision-I concept showcased by its parent company SAIC at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2019.  Built for the 5G era, the Roewe Vision-i concept car combines the high passability SUV with the large space MPV, creating a new SPV category. SPV defined by Roewe: Smart Proactive Vehicle, means intelligent and active interactive car.

Other than the Vision-i concept, the company will also display the 6-seat Hector called Hector Plus. Also confirmed for Auto Expo 2020 is the MG-badged Maxus D90, which is set to arrive in India this year. The six-seat Hector Plus will feature a slightly revised exterior and an updated interior. On the inside, it will feature a third row of seats and captain chairs in the second row. Similarly, the Maxus D90 is a full-size SUV that measures 5,005 mm in length, is 1,932 mm wide, 1,875 mm tall and has a 2,950 mm long wheelbase. The three-row SUV will get SAIC’s in-house 2.0-litre diesel engine and will rival the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, etc.

Currently, MG Motor is gearing up for the launch of its first electric vehicle for the Indian market, the MG ZS EV. The ZS EV will be MG’s second model in the Indian market after the Hector.
