The VW T-Roc has been finally launched in India. The all-new premium sub-compact SUV is available in only one fully loaded variant that is priced at INR 19.99 lakh. The T-Roc sits under the Tiguan Allspace but will sit above the upcoming Taigun SUV that is due next year. It sits on the MQB platform. It measures 4.2 metres in length, 1.8 metres in width and 1.6 metres in height and it has a wheelbase of 2.6 metres. The boot space is 445 litres and can be increased to 1,290 litres by folding down the rear seat backrests.

The VW T-Roc features progressive design language with a coupé-style roof, distinctively wide front end and concise proportions exude character and confidence. The LED headlights, LED DRLs, 17-inch Mayfield alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, panoramic sunroof, 11.7-inch fully digital instrument cluster and Vienna leather seats are some of the equipment highlights of the VW T-Roc available in India.

The VW T-Roc is powered by a 1.5-litre TSI-Evo turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with ACT  linked to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission that makes produces 147 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The T-Roc comprises of a unique feature called Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), which deactivates two out of the four cylinders of the engine when it senses a relaxed driving pattern or basis the required rpm. The change happens so quickly, between 13 to 36 milliseconds that the driver feels no loss of power and is fuel-efficient.

On the safety front, the premium B-SUV includes Electronic Stabilisation Programme, Electronic Differential Lock, Anti-Slip Regulation, Motor-Schleppmoment-Regelung or engine drag torque control, Hill Start Assist (HSA) and 6 airbags. The T-Roc will rival the Kia Seltos, new Hyundai Creta, Tata H5, Nissan Kicks and Renault Captur.
