Lexus has taken the wraps off of its first-ever MPV, the LM. Available only in China and other Asian markets the LM will come in two flavors, the LM 350 and the LM 300h. The LM is based on Toyota’s Alphard MPV but is more luxurious and premium. Catered to the business professionals who prefer luxury and comfort above all else the LM MPV is a luxury limousine running on steroids. The LM retains the basic MPV design and dimensions that have a typical, boxy MPV silhouette. But this MPV is unmistakably Lexus. The front is dominated the brand’s signature spindle grille in chrome, with some of the sharpest LED headlights positioned on either side and also equally sharp L-shaped fog lamp housings finished in chrome to remind you that it is a Lexus. On the side, the MPV features muscular curves and sharp lines for an overall sleek effect. The LM gets a chrome strip around the window line and on the side skirts and also the chrome door handles right next to each other, while the multi-spoke alloy wheels increase the premium quotient of the MPV. The rear is wild, even for a sports car, the tail-lights are sharp and it wraps around the sides and rests on chrome strip that shoots across the back and ends on a sharp angle. You get a roof lip spoiler and a shark fin antenna that add to the sportiness of this MPV.

Inside the cabin, the Lexus LM MPV can be ordered in four and seven-seat configurations. While the seven-seat configuration in the LM is aimed at family buyers and features an additional row of three seats at the back. The four-seat configuration includes two gigantic, reclining and ventilated captain chairs separated by an armrest with a built-in touch control panel that allows controls for the seats, the climate control, and the audio controls. A partition with power glass and a built-in 26-inch screen, a 14-liter fridge, umbrella storage, and a 19-speaker sound system. Also, Lexus has installed double layer noise reducing glass to keep this MPV more quiet and tranquil.

Powering this wild MPV will be a choice of two engines. The LM 350 will be powered by a 3.5-liter petrol engine while the LM 300h will be powered by a 2.5-liter Atkinson four-cylinder engine that will work together with an electric motor. The LM uses swing valve shock absorbers, used in luxury Lexus sedans to maintain an undisturbed and balanced ride.
