Ampere Electric Vehicles, a wholly-owned electric mobility subsidiary of Greaves Cotton, announced its first dealership in Nepal. This marks the entry of Ampere Electric's range of energy-efficient products in Nepal for sustainable and affordable last-mile connectivity.
Commenting on the partnership with Ampere, Devshworup, Ampere Electric's Nepal Channel Partner and an automobile enthusiast, said,
"We are delighted to partner with Ampere Electric for the first EV dealership in Nepal, their expertise and experience in the EV space with innovative e-scooters models will help us to pave a way for sustainable solutions. Government's support on New or Clean Energy Vehicles (NEV) has made this partnership possible and together we will create a win-win situation for customers as well as the environment." He further added," We are strictly following the norms as prescribed by the authorities and hence will deliver the vehicle post the lockdown. However, we are accepting online booking"
Post-COVID, there is an expectancy of an increase in personal mobility e-scooters for short-distance commuting, owing to an increased need to curb any additional expenses on fuel & maintenance cost. There are safety concerns over visiting crowded petrol stations & risk infection due to issues in social distancing & exchange of cash. The press release states, the e-scooters will be a boon for the small business entrepreneurs in Nepal, who want to multiply their trade, tapping additional customers from online e-commerce.
Ampere Electric is one of the fast-growing EV brands in India, offering last-mile energy-efficient solutions that can save up to 85-90% of the cost in comparison to the conventional petrol scooter. The company has sold more than 50,000 scooters in the Indian market & has been growing with over 200+ exclusive retail outlets in India.
The company's current offerings include high-speed EV 'Zeal', along with medium to optimum city speed models like Reo Elite, V-48 LA, Magnus 60, Reo LA, and REO Li. Zeal is widely preferred in the B2B segment by many last-mile delivery e-commerce companies.
