Aprilia SXR160 Likely To Be Launched Soon In India

Remember the Aprilia SXR160 maxi-scooter from the Auto Expo 2020? Well, production of the Aprilia SXR 160 has finally begun in Piaggio’s Baramati plant in India, before the scheduled India launch in December 2020. The Aprilia SXR160 is designed by Aprilia in Italy, for the Indian market, with an aim to set a new benchmark in India's premium two-wheeler segment.  Although the company hasn't revealed anything on the pricing yet, you can expect the scooter to be likely priced around INR 1.25 Lakh.The scooter follows a maxi-scooter like design language.  It features an ergonomic riding position, oversize saddle, flat footboard, LED lights, multi-function digital display, ABS, 12-inch, 5-spoke alloy wheel rims, and will be available in a 160cc engine with 3V Tech FI Engine technology, compliant with the BS6 emission standards. Piaggio will also bring in the Aprilia SXR 125 after the launch of the SXR160.The maxi-scooter will be powered by a 160 cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine from the Aprilia SR 160 scooter.  The Aprilia SXR 160's motor will deliver a maximum power of 11 bhp at 7,600 rpm along with a peak torque of 12 Nm at 6 000 rpm. The scooter is expected to share most of the components from the SR 160 like the chassis, brakes, and suspension. The Aprilia SXR 160 will be offered in 4 colour options – White, Black, Red and Blue.Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director, Piaggio India said, “We are extremely excited to soon introduce the highly anticipated and a unique, premium proposition for our discerning customers.
