Skoda has unveiled the Vision IN concept which might as well be one of the most important reveals from the company that has been quiet in India for a few years now. The Skoda Vision IN, just like the VW Taigun will be the first model to be built on the company’s brand-new, tailored-for-India, MQB A0 IN platform. The Vision IN previews a midsize SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos here and mark Skoda’s entry into one of the Indian market's most lucrative and competitive segments.[gallery size="full" ids="14915,14918,14919"]The concept has a proper SUV design with higher ground clearance, a more imposing front fascia, and a tougher overall design. Compared to the Skoda Kamiq it has a bolder, more upright nose, with the trademark chrome-embellished Skoda grille flanked by split projector headlights and the angular bumper featuring large air intakes and a three-slot skid plate. At the rear, with its crystal-like LED tail-lights, the upper and lower lights give the signature C-shape.[gallery size="full" ids="14927,14928,14920,14924"]As for the Skoda Vision IN’s interior, it has a minimalist design, and most of that will be seen in the production version.  The layered dashboard is bound to draw a lot of attention. A thin chrome bar spans the length of the dash and connects the large, chrome-lined vents at each end. Skoda has also used orange liberally to liven up things on the inside. There are two large displays, one being a touchscreen infotainment system and one a fully digital instrument cluster, emphasize the SUV’s advancement when it comes to onboard electronics. The floor console has lots of room for storage and houses an ultra-compact gearshift lever.[gallery size="full" ids="14925,14926,14922"]Features expected on the production version of the Skoda Vision IN include automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, USB charging ports at the rear, drive modes, ambient lighting and more. We can also tell you that the production-spec Skoda Vision IN SUV will have a 2,651mm-long wheelbase and plenty of space for rear-seat passengers.Just like the Volkswagen Taigun, the Skoda Vision IN is likely to be offered with a 115 hp 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine and maybe even a 130 hp 1.5-litre TSI-Evo petrol engine with transmission choices that include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
