Suzuki has kick-started the Auto Expo 2020 with the unveiling of its Futuro-e SUV concept. The concept is just a design study and it hints at the possible design direction for its future utility vehicles. Suzuki aims to have 1 million green vehicles in India, and the Futuro-e will be one of them. The company claims that the SUV-coupe concept is "future ready with a wide array of powertrain options like hybrid & pure EV".
The Futuro-e carries a “bold new global design philosophy for the UV segment” according to the brand and it has been created taking the evolving desires of aspirational youths into account. Going by the exterior, the silhouette of the Futuro-e concept with a bonnet that swoops down towards the grille hint at a coupe-SUV design. The exterior comprises a raked windshield, muscular character lines, and fenders, a sleek front fascia, prominent LED tail lamps, a thick C-pillar, large wheels, camera pods for mirrors and a sunroof.
Similarly, the futuristic-looking interior gets a blue and ivory theme and a wide sweeping screen that is present across the dashboard. Ambient lighting is also on offer. Suzuki says the Futuro-e will get flexible swivel seats that will give the occupants the chance to engage with the infotainment system. Unfortunately, the company has not announced anything on the powertrain or when the vehicle will go into production
