Bajaj Auto Launches World's First CNG-Petrol Hybrid Motorcycle, the Freedom 125

Bajaj Auto has launched the world's first CNG-petrol hybrid motorcycle in India, named the 'Freedom 125'. This motorcycle will come in three variants.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 features a 125cc single-cylinder engine that can operate on both petrol and CNG, allowing riders to switch between the two fuels at the push of a button. The CNG tank, located under the seat, has a capacity of 2kg and is paired with a 2-litre petrol tank. The engine delivers 9.5 PS and 9.7 Nm of peak torque, offering a range of 300 km.

According to Bajaj, the Freedom can travel up to 102 kilometres per kilogram of CNG. The CNG-only range of the motorcycle is estimated at 200 kilometres, and combined with the petrol tank, the total range extends to 330 kilometres. Bajaj also claims that the Freedom 125 CNG bike features the longest seat in its segment, with a height of 785mm. Additionally, the top-of-the-line variant includes a negative LCD cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.

The Freedom's notable features include modern styling, a sturdy trellis frame, and a linked monoshock. The bike also boasts 10-spoke alloy wheels and a front disc brake in its top-spec form. Additionally, the top-of-the-line variant includes a negative LCD cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.

While CNG-powered cars have been available in India for over a decade, this marks the first introduction of such technology in a motorcycle, not only in India but worldwide.
