In a major step forward for Nepal’s transport sector, Batas M.A.W. Commercial Vehicles has officially handed over twelve units of its flagship "Majestic by Volvo Eicher" 12-meter chassis to key members of Paschim Nepal Bus Byabasai Pvt. Ltd. The ceremony, held at Diyalo Food Land in Kalika Nagar, marked a significant milestone in the advancement of premium inter-city bus mobility in the country.

The event brought together transport entrepreneurs, business leaders, and stakeholders from across the region. The newly delivered fleet will be operated by Moon Airbus, Devraj Travel, and Time Travel—three major names in western Nepal’s transportation network. Designed for performance, comfort, and reliability, the Majestic 12M is set to raise the bar for long-distance travel.

The program was attended by Mr. Dhadiram Kharel, President of Paschim Nepal Bus Byabasai Pvt. Ltd., along with industry leaders such as Mr. Mohan P.S., Mr. Narayan Pd. Bhandari, and Mr. Devraj Khanal. The keys were formally handed over by Mr. Hemant Puranik, Vice President of M.A.W. Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Puranik highlighted the growing popularity of the Majestic series, praising its superior build quality and class-leading fuel efficiency. He thanked Paschim Nepal Bus Byabasai Pvt. Ltd. for their confidence in the brand. Mr. Kharel, in turn, commended the Majestic’s robust design and advanced features, including a factory-fitted air-conditioning compressor and a lubricated-for-life propeller shaft—both of which are expected to enhance reliability and reduce long-term maintenance costs.

Also present were Mr. Raghu Poudel, Sales Head of BMCV, and Mr. Santosh Thapa, HCB Manager at BMCV. The event saw a strong turnout, with over 100 transport industry stakeholders in attendance and bookings for eleven additional units confirmed on the spot.

The Majestic 12M is powered by a 192 HP engine delivering a peak torque of 715 Nm, providing strong pulling power for Nepal’s challenging terrain. It features a 425-liter fuel tank for extended travel, a factory-installed AC compressor ready for air-conditioned bodies, and a durable propeller shaft designed for minimal maintenance. Other highlights include a 60,000-kilometer service interval, a sturdy DOMEX chassis, a large-diameter clutch for smoother gear transitions, and a front weveller suspension system ideal for navigating hills and sharp curves.

Built with a focus on drivability and passenger comfort, the Majestic 12M is designed to meet the rugged demands of Nepal’s diverse landscape. Its capabilities make it an excellent choice for both luxury intercity services and intra-city staff transportation.
