Changan's Deepal has launched its rugged off-road range extender SUV, the G318, in China at a price range spanning from 175,900 to 318,000 yuan (equivalent to 24,300 USD to 43,900 USD). The Deepal G318 comprises six versions, catering to both two-wheel and four-wheel drive options.

Marking Deepal's inaugural venture into new energy vehicles for hardcore off-road driving, the G318 incorporates range extension EV technology. A range extender EV, or Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV), combines an electric motor with an internal combustion engine or fuel cell generator to extend its driving range beyond what's possible with the battery alone.
