Citroen Opens 'LA Maison Citroen" Showroom in Nepal; Launches C5 Aircross SUV

Shangrila Motors Private Limited, the sole authorized distributor of Peugeot and Citroen in Nepal, has inaugurated the company's “La Maison Citroën” showroom in Thapathali, Kathmandu. Located in the most strategic location for auto retail in Kathmandu, the showroom is among the first “La Maison Citroën” in Nepal. To mark the occasion, the French company has officially introduced the C5 Aircross SUV, the first product from the Citroen brand for Nepalese customers.  Priced at Rs 1.35 crore, the C5 Aircross SUV is a premium mid-size 5-seater SUV directly imported from France. The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV looks imposing and bold.  At the front, there is the unmistakable double chevron design and powerful curved side panels. The 360° glazed surfaces are highlighted by a dynamic chrome ‘C’ motif. The rear lights feature four rectangular 3D LED modules, which emphasize the vehicle’s broad stance.Inside, the new Citroen C5 Aircross welcomes a mix of refined comfort and space. Settle in and occupants will quickly appreciate the high driving position and the great visibility from the cabin. The horizontal lines of the dashboard subtly incorporate a range of useful technologies, such as the 8” touchscreen infotainment system and  12.3” digital cluster. Comfort and convenience features include LED interior lighting, Automatic A/C, Leather Seats, Smartphone Integration with Wireless Charging, Rain-sensing wipers, Automatic Headlights, Cruise Control, Panoramic Sunroof, Electronically-Adjustable Driver's Seat, and Coffee Break Alert, etc.The C5 Aircross comes with Citroen's Advanced Comfort program that delivers innovative, technological, and intelligent solutions for driver's and passenger's comfort. The four main themes at the heart of this comfort engineering are: Cocooned in Comfort, Panoramic Life, Flying Carpet Effect, and Intuitive Technologies. With all four themes combined the C5 Aircross brings features geared directly towards cabin comfort and luxury, says the company.Some of these features are double-laminated front windows and acoustic windshield glass to keep wind and road noise to an absolute minimum. The on-board Air Quality System (AQS), three independent adjustable rear seats of the same width that all fold flat, panoramic glass roof, foot-operated electric tailgate, and suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions that smoothens large bumps and minor road surface imperfections, to provide a supple ride quality.The C5 Aircross is based on Groupe PSA’s EMP2 platform. The SUV measures 4,500mm in length, 2,099mm in width, 1,689mm in height, and 2,730mm in wheelbase length. It has a ground clearance of 230mm and a boot space of 720 litres.  Under the hood, the C5 Aircross features a 1.6-litre petrol engine, which delivers 165 bhp and 240 Nm of torque and is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.  Also available are drive modes, a Unique Grip Control system with multiple drive surface options, and paddle-shifters.On the safety front, the SUV gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, Auto Hold, Grip Control with Hill Descent Assist, Electric Parking Brake, Active Blind Spot Monitoring, Active Lane Keeping Assistance, Advanced Driver Attention Alert, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, and a 180-degrees Rear View Camera, etc.The Citroen C5 Aircross SUV will be available in seven body colour options - Pearl White, Volcano Red, Tijuca Blue, Cumulus Grey, Polar White, Platinum Grey, and Perla Nera Black. The C5 Aircross SUV will take on the likes of Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Kodiaq, and the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, etc.The company has also confirmed the launch of the Citroen C3 in the 1st quarter of 2022 and the Citroen C4 EV in the 2nd half of 2022.
