Kia Syros Debuts in India

Kia India has officially launched the Kia Syros compact SUV in the Indian market, positioning it between the Sonet and Seltos within Kia’s SUV lineup.

The design of the Syros presents a bold, boxy stance, clearly inspired by the Kia EV9. The front features vertically aligned 3-pod LED headlights with integrated DRLs.

On the sides, the Syros showcases large windows, a sharply angled beltline near the C-pillar, flush door handles, and squared wheel arches housing 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear features a two-tone black and silver finish on the bumper, along with high-mounted L-shaped tail lamps that encircle the rear windscreen.

Inside, the dashboard layout of the Syros takes cues from the Kia EV9, offering a stylish dual-tone black and grey interior complemented by leatherette seating. 

The cabin is loaded with features, including a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display with Connected Car Navigation, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, customizable 64-color ambient lighting, a new 2-spoke steering wheel, a 4-way powered driver seat, ventilated front and rear seats, and a premium Harman Kardon 8-speaker sound system.

The Syros measures 3,995mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,665mm in height, and features a 2,550mm wheelbase. It is 10mm wider, 55mm taller, and has a 50mm longer wheelbase compared to the Sonet. Its boot capacity has also been increased to 465 litres, compared to the Sonet's 385 litres. 

In terms of safety, the Syros is equipped with ADAS Level 2, which includes 16 advanced driving assistance features such as Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist, a 360-degree camera with Blind View Monitor, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

The Syros also comes with a comprehensive set of standard features, including Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, six airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, and an Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold.

Under the hood, the Syros offers two engine options: a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine producing 120PS and 172Nm of torque, and a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine with 116PS and 250Nm of torque. Both engines come with the choice of manual or automatic transmission.

The Kia Syros will be available in a range of trims: four standard options—HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX—and two additional feature-rich trims—HTX+ and HTX+(O).
