Exclusive: BYD Dolphin Spotted At Kerung Border

The BYD Dolphin subcompact EV has been spotted at the Kerung border in Rasuwa.Sources have confirmed to Nepal Drives that the Dolphin subcompact EV will first undergo tests in the Nepalese market. The launch, however, is unconfirmed. The BYD Dolphin is one of the most anticipated electric cars coming into our market in 2023. Cimex Inc. is the sole authorised distributor for BYD in Nepal.The BYD Dolphin is the first model in BYD's Ocean series to adopt the “Ocean Aesthetics” design concept. It's built on the state-of-the-art BYD e-Platform 3.0. Similarly, BYD’s revolutionary Blade Battery technology which comes as a standard in Dolphin offers drivers industry-leading safety levels as well as an extended single-charge range capability.Globally, the BYD Dolphin is equipped with a front permanent magnet synchronous motor with two output options: 70 kW/180 Nm and 130 kW/290 Nm, with an electric cruising range of 427 km and 401 km. Similarly, the Dolphin can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 10.9 seconds and 7 seconds, respectively. (Technical specifications may vary)In terms of features, the BYD Dolphin EV gets a flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel, a 5-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a 12.8-inch floating central control screen. Similarly, the electric subcompact EV also offers front seat heating, a four-way electronically adjustable passenger seat, a six-way electronically adjustable driver seat, and a rear center armrest with a cup holder.The BYD Dolphin is 4070mm long, 1770mm wide and 1570mm high – with a wheelbase of 2770 mm. The 345-litre luggage compartment can be expanded to up to 1,310 litres. It runs on 16-inch/17-inch wheels, depending on the model.
