Heritage Motor Rally and Autocross Championship Conclude with Exciting Wins

The Lalitpur-Chandragiri Heritage Motor Rally and National Autocross Championship has concluded successfully in Kathmandu Valley.

Former minister and House of Representatives member Shishir Khanal flagged off the Heritage Motor Rally, which navigated through various landmarks, ultimately reaching Matatirtha via Dhobighat-Jawlakhel-Thapathali-Tripureshwar- Newroad- Juddhasalik-Thamel-Balaju-Swayambhu-Balkhu-Kirtipur-Bhatkepati-Machhegaun.

In the TDS System motor rally, Biplak Shrestha and Rajan Giri secured the first position, followed by Pravesh Poudel and Prajwal Poudel in second place, and Ashish Bharti and Gauravman Tuladhar in third.

Meanwhile, at the National Autocross Championship held at Madan Bhandari Stadium in Chandragiri, skilled drivers showcased their speed and expertise on the temporary track.

Ashish Bharati clinched the top spot in the national category, triumphing over 11 other drivers. Similarly, Biplak Shrestha from Chandragiri secured second place, while Lakpa Sonam Sherpa and Rajkumar Karki claimed the top positions in the Novice category on the same track.

Ghanshyam Giri, the Mayor of Chandragiri Municipality, along with FIA World Council Member Govinda Bhattarai, officials from NASA Nepal, and representatives from the organizing club, awarded shields, medals, and certificates to the winners and participants across all categories.

Program coordinator Anil Baral announced that the winners would be invited to participate in the Moto Sports' Asia Pacific Auto Gymkhana. Furthermore, speakers at the event reiterated their commitment to transforming Chandragiri into a hub for adventure sports. They emphasized the significance of adventure sports in fostering sustainable tourism in Nepal, a sentiment echoed by guests and participants at both the opening and closing ceremonies.
