The 4th Gen Honda City has scored an impressive four-star safety rating in the latest crash tests conducted by Global NCAP under its Safer Cars For India campaign. It is important to note that this is not the latest 5th Gen City, but the previous 4th Gen model, whose four-star rating is a promising sign for those looking to buy this aging model.

Its score of 12.03 out of 17 in adult protection while the child protection score was 38.27 out of 49, leading to a four-star rating. The 4th Gen City was tested in its most basic safety spec, fitted with two frontal airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, and ABS. During the assessment, it showed an unstable structure and footwell area, good child occupant protection thanks to the ISOFIX anchorages, and the rearward facing position of one of the child dummies. This model is offered with a lap belt in the rear center seat, without ESC and side head impact protection as standard.
