Honda Shine 100cc Launched in India

Honda has recently launched their latest motorcycle, the Honda Shine 100, at INR. 64,900 ex-showroom, with deliveries set to begin in May 2023. This new offering is Honda's first 100cc motorcycle that will go head to head with the current segment leader, Hero Moto Corp's Splendor. Honda is relying on the Shine brand name, popularized by the market-leading CB Shine 125, to help establish the Shine 100 in the market.The Shine 100 is touted to match the Splendor's key USPs, specifically its mileage, while still providing Honda's reliability. What's more, the Honda Shine 100 is cheaper to purchase than the Hero Splendor, which starts at INR. 72,000 (ex-showroom). The motorcycle has a basic commuter look with modern touches like 5-spoke black alloy wheels, a sporty cowl, and an aluminum grab rail. The bike is available in 5 different graphic colors, including red, blue, green, gold, and grey.The Shine 100 is powered by a 99.7cc, OBD2 compliant, PGM-FI engine that generates 7.5 BHP and 8.05 Nm of torque, mated to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox. The motorcycle has a 677 mm long seat, 786 mm seat height, side stand with engine inhibitor, combi brake system, 168 mm ground clearance, and 1245 mm wheelbase.The Honda Shine 100 rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks, while the braking system comprises a front and rear drum unit mounted on alloy wheels with road-biased tires. The bike comes with a standard 3-year warranty and an optional 3-year extended warranty.In addition to the Hero Splendor, the Honda Shine 100cc will also compete with the TVS Raedon and Bajaj Platina in the market.
