Hyundai has officially unveiled the highly-awaited Creta Electric ahead of its launch in India. The electric SUV will make its public debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo on January 17.
The Creta Electric will feature two battery options: a 42 kWh unit and a larger 51.4 kWh version, delivering driving ranges of 390 km and 473 km (ARAI), respectively. Hyundai claims the long-range variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.
In terms of charging, Using a DC fast charger, the batteries can be charged from 10% to 80% in 58 minutes. Alternatively, the 11 kW Smart Connected Wall Box charger fully charges the battery from 10% to 100% in 4 hours. The vehicle also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing users to power external devices.
In terms of design, the Creta Electric closely resembles its ICE counterpart but stands out with a blanked-off grille, vertically stacked headlamps, L-shaped LED DRLs and taillights, and LED light bars on both ends. The electric SUV rides on 17-inch dual-tone aero-optimized alloy wheels fitted with Low Rolling Resistance tires and features Active Air Flaps to enhance aerodynamics. 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone color options will be available, including 3 matte finishes.
The Creta Electric will be offered in four trims: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. Its feature list includes a shift-by-wire system, three drive modes, a dual 10.25-inch screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, 36-degree cameras, a digital key, and an ADAS suite.
As per our sources, Hyundai Nepal plans to introduce the Creta EV to the local market in February 2025, following its launch in India. The Creta EV is expected to be priced between Rs 55 lakh and 65 lakh, making it a competitive offering in the electric SUV segment.
