The Inster EV is available in two battery and motor configurations at present. The base model features a 96hp front-mounted drive unit, achieving 0-100kph in 11.7 seconds with a top speed of 140kph. It utilizes a 42kWh battery pack, delivering approximately 300km of range (WLTP).

On the other hand, the higher-spec ‘long-range’ version of the Inster EV boasts 113hp and comes equipped with a 49kWh battery pack, extending its range to about 350km (WLTP) and increasing its top speed to 150kph. Both variants utilize nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) chemistry and come standard with a heat pump and 85kW (DC) charging capabilities.

The Inster EV shares much of its foundation with the 3,595mm long Casper, which is exclusively powered by petrol in the Korean market. Hyundai has elongated the Casper’s platform by 230mm for the Inster, with 180mm added to its wheelbase. This modification enhances cabin space and accommodates the underfloor battery pack.

Measuring 3,825mm in length, 1,610mm in width, and 1,575mm in height, the Inster EV features a five-seat cabin with various interior configurations, according to Hyundai. Alongside its impressive driving range and rapid charging capability, the Inster EV will incorporate advanced technology, including numerous cutting-edge safety and driver assistance features.

An additional variant, called Inster Cross will join the Inster family in the future, featuring a more rugged, outdoor-focused design. Further details will be announced at a later date.
