With a history spanning 34 years and over 2,000,000 units delivered to customers in Malaysia and export markets, the Saga undoubtedly retains its position as the most popular model from a Malaysian automotive brand. The Saga is powered by a 1.3 litre four-cylinder VVT engine that delivers 95 PS and 120 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox, depending on the chosen variant, with Eco-Drive Assist.

On the outside, the Saga receives a new and more aggressively styled front bumper with integrated daytime running lamps. The grille also features the infinite weave pattern that was introduced on the Proton X70 and can also be found on the 2019 Proton Iriz and Persona.

Inside, the most noticeable feature is the floating 7-inch touchscreen monitor with Bluetooth connectivity, 16GB of internal storage, and Android connectivity. Convenience features on the Saga include a remote trunk release, a sun visor with a ticket holder and mirror, LED map lamps, and new assist grips to match the new headlining material.

Safety features on the Saga include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), and Hill-Hold Assist (HHA) as standard on the top-spec Premium model. All variants also come with ISOFIX mounting points and twin airbags, which gives the model a four-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.

The Proton Saga will be introduced through the company’s exclusive showroom in Naxal, Kathmandu, and will be gradually introduced in other cities like Pokhara, Biratnagar, Itahari, Birgunj, Dhangadhi, and Nepalgunj, etc. through its dealership network. Likewise, other Proton models will be subsequently introduced as per the demand of the customers.
