Jaguar has launched the I-Pace all-electric SUV in India. The Jaguar I-Pace is available in 3 trim levels in India – the S, SE, and the HSE. The entry-level S trim retails for INR 1.06 crore, the SE trim will come at INR 1.08 crore while the top-spec HSE trim sets you back by INR 1.12 crore. The I-Pace measures 4,682mm in length, 2,139mm in width, and is 1,565mm tall while the wheelbase measures 2,990mm. The I-Pace looks quite neat all around. The long and elongated profile along with the raked pillars at either end give it a beautiful four-door coupe-like silhouette. The large single-frame grille and the cat-eyed LED headlamps to grab your attention at the front. The squared rear contrasts quite well with the swooping front end. Signature Jaguar LED taillights, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a diffuser are other design elements at the rear. As standard, the I-Pace comes with 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a full-length fixed glass roof. The Jaguar I-Pace also comes with a host of features like 16-way adjustable sports seats, fully digital instrument panel, touchscreen infotainment system with Pivi Pro interface, touchscreen to control temperature settings and other adjustments, Meridian sound system, 3D surround camera, driver condition monitor system, animated directional indicators, a head-up display, and adaptive cruise control to name a few.Powering the I-Pace is a 90 kWh Lithium-ion battery that comes with 8 years or 160,000 km warranty. The battery is paired with two synchronous permanent magnet electric motors - one of each axle - which produce a combined power of 400hp and 696 Nm of peak torque. Talking numbers, 0-100 kph comes in at 4.8 seconds while the top speed is limited to 200 kph. The battery is mounted centrally on the floor, giving the SUV a low center of gravity and 50:50 weight distribution. The SUV also comes with an Eco mode and brake regeneration to improve the range. The battery takes 45 minutes to charge from 0-80 percent using a 100kW rapid charger when that is made available in India. Or else, it will take about 10 hours using a 7.4kW AC wall box. It has a WLTP-rated driving range of 470 km on a single charge. A 50kW charger is said to deliver up to 270km of range per hour. What really works in the favor of the i-Pace is that Jaguar has built up a robust charging network in India, thanks to their tie-up with Tata Power. If you are an owner of the i-Pace, you can charge your vehicle at any of Tata Power’s 200-plus points across 23 cities in India. Jaguar has also installed 35 DC fast chargers across 22 of its dealerships, spread over 19 cities in India.
