Jeep introduced its first electric vehicle called the Wagoneer S. It's going to be launched in the US and Canada first in the latter part of 2024, and then it will be sold in other markets too.
This new Jeep SUV comes with two motors for all-wheel drive, and each wheel has its electric drive module made by Stellantis. These modules combine the motor, gearing, and electronics into a single unit. It also has Jeep's traction management system, Selec-Terrain, which offers five drive modes: Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow, and Sand.
Compared to the Grand Cherokee, the Wagoneer S is smaller and has a unique design. The Jeep Wagoneer S showcases an enclosed seven-slot illuminated grille, 20-inch wheels, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof as standard features. Additionally, Jeep has achieved a coefficient of drag (CD) of 0.29, marking the lowest CD ever for a Jeep vehicle and roughly 15% better than the average SUV.
Inside, the dashboard layout of the Wagoneer S is quite similar to the Grand Wagoneer. You'll notice a two-spoke steering wheel and four screens. The upper part of the dashboard has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen for the central infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the passenger side. There's also another touchscreen for controlling the climate system, placed in front of the center console.
Additionally, it features premium heated and ventilated seats for both front and rear passengers, along with a segment-exclusive 19-speaker, 1,160-watt McIntosh audio system.
The Wagoneer S will be initially available in the US during the latter part of 2024, followed by its availability in other markets later.
