Kia EV5 Electric SUV Production Images Leaked

The production version of the Kia EV5 has been exposed in China ahead of its launch on August 25 at the Chengdu Motor Show. As per the information released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the EV5 will feature an LFP Blade battery from BYD and a 160 kW electric motor with 310 Nm peak torque.In China, every car must be approved by the local regulator before hitting the market, and MIIT publishes the list of upcoming vehicles that went through the homologation process. As per the homologation submission, the Kia EV5 has dimensions of 4615mm x 1875mm x 1715mm respectively and the wheelbase is 2750mm. The EV5 features Hyundai Motor Group's 800V E-GMP platform.Just like its elder sibling, the Concept EV5 clearly exudes a progressive look from all angles. At the front, it gets a new form of Digital Tiger Face which is integrated with Kia’s Star Map signature lighting technology. The profile is amplified by sculpted lines, squares, fenders and creating a powerful stance. The side profile is further enhanced by the striking 21-inch wheels and an aerodynamic-enhancing roof spoiler.Like the EV9, the EV5 will have swivelling seats. Similarly, a full-length panoramic sunroof occupies the roof which also acts as a solar panel. The Concept EV5's cabin also uses a variety of sustainable materials like recycled plastic bottles for the seats, doors, dashboard, and headliner.
