While Nepal is no stranger to Kia and its vehicles India is, which is why when Kia debuted the Kia SP Signature concept at the 2018 Auto Expo in India and announced that it is to become the brand's first model for India it created a huge buzz in the auto industry. While the Kia SP Compact SUV has been spotted many times in production spec, the company has finally confirmed that the Kia SP’s India reveal will take place on June 20, 2019, ahead of its market launch later in the year in India.
The production-spec Kia SP Compact SUV is likely to remain similar to the Kia SP Signature concept, which was revealed at the 2019 Seoul motor show. Although the concept design looks fancy and futuristic, certain elements will be very familiar to us, like Kia's signature Tiger Nose grille up front. Looking at the concept it is apparent that the production-spec will get contrast roof with roof rails and slim LED fog lamps. Inside the Kia SP Compact SUV is going to be decked out with all the comfort, a segment first features and will come loaded with the latest goodies.
The Kia SP Compact SUV is likely to be powered by 1.5-liter petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Both engine options are likely to be BS-VI-ready. The Kia SP will rival the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur, Tata Harrier, and even the lower variants of the Jeep Compass.
