Leapmotor has introduced its compact electric vehicle, the Leapmotor T03, to Kathmandu for testing, marking a significant step in expanding its presence. The T03 will join the C10 premium electric SUV in the company’s growing lineup.
Currently undergoing trials, the T03 is designed with urban, eco-conscious consumers in mind, highlighting Leapmotor's commitment to offering innovative electric vehicle solutions tailored to the Nepali market.
In China, the T03 is available with three battery options: 21.6 kWh, 31.9 kWh, and 41.3 kWh, offering ranges between 200 and 403 kilometers (CLTC standard) on a single charge. For the Nepalese market, the T03 will come equipped with a 31.9 kWh battery. The T03 also supports fast charging, with an 80% charge achieved in just 30 minutes, and its battery is backed by an 8-year/150,000 km warranty.
In terms of features, the T03 is expected to offer a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, GPS navigation, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), smart key access, automatic air conditioning, 15-inch alloy wheels, an 8.0-inch TFT instrument console, and Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities. The interior is spacious enough to comfortably seat up to five passengers, with generous legroom and ample cargo space.
In a major move last year, Stellantis acquired a 21% stake in Leapmotor in a $1.6 billion deal, reinforcing its strategy to tap into the Chinese automotive market, the largest in the world by sales volume. This partnership also saw the formation of a joint venture, giving Stellantis exclusive rights to manufacture, export, and distribute Leapmotor vehicles outside of China.
