Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has introduced two new “born-electric” models, the BE 6e and the XEV 9e, setting a new benchmark in electric mobility. The BE 6e is priced from INR 18.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e starts at INR 21.90 lakh.
Both vehicles are built on the INGLO platform, which supports two battery pack options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Currently, M&M has announced prices only for the 59 kWh variant, with the pricing for the 79 kWh pack to be revealed later.
The INGLO Electric Origin Architecture offers an impressive certified range of 682 km for the BE 6e and 656 km for the XEV 9e with the advanced 79 kWh LFP battery pack, based on the new MIDC city and highway combined cycle.
The vehicles come with a lifetime battery warranty for the first private owner, while subsequent owners are covered for 10 years or up to 200,000 km. Equipped with a 3-in-1 integrated powertrain generating up to 210 kW, the BE 6e achieves 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while the XEV 9e follows closely at 6.8 seconds. A 175 kW fast charger enables charging from 20% to 80% in under 20 minutes.
The XEV 9e boasts a three-screen setup, including a driver display, a touchscreen, and a passenger display, whereas the BE 6e features dual screens. The central console houses dials for driving modes, a gear shifter, dual cupholders, and two wireless phone chargers integrated with the front center armrest.
Both models feature advanced engineering, including i-Link front suspension, 5-link rear suspension with intelligent dampers, brake-by-wire with an electronic booster, and high-power steering with a variable gear ratio, allowing for a tight 10m turning circle.
Additionally, the EVs are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, offering Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Autopark, and other cutting-edge features.
