This new electric SUV has a length of 4,476 mm and a wheelbase of 2,730 mm, making it 162 mm and 149 mm longer than the previous ZS EV. It also boasts a width of 1,849 mm and a height of 1,621 mm, making it both wider and lower than the model it’s replacing.

Designed using SAIC’s Nebula pure electric architecture, the MG ES5 will come in three range options: 425 km, 515 km, and 525 km (according to CLTC standards).

The vehicle is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 125 kW (168 hp) and peak torque of 250 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and reach a top speed of 170 km/h. The battery options include a 49.1 kWh or a 62.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack, provided by the CATL-SAIC partnership.  Impressively, the battery pack is just 110 mm thick, making it the thinnest on the market.
