Laxmi Intercontinental has finally brought in the Venue and you will be able to see it in person at the NADA Auto Show. The Venue conveys a modern design in a compact package. The Venue is packed with a host of premium driver safety and convenience technologies and will be the most affordable Hyundai compact SUV, and joins its larger siblings including the Creta, Tucson and Santa Fe in the Nepalese market.
On the front, you can see a huge grille, with its large chrome-lined mesh that reminds you of the new Hyundai Santa Fe and the Palisade SUV. The new split headlight with slim LED strip that sits up top and the projector unit at the bottom is similar to the ones on the Hyundai Kona. The rear is a mixed bag of strong proportions with an upright stance and funky design that look very appealing.
The interiors of the Venue will welcome you with three interior colour themes- Black single tone, Khaki dual-tone and Denim dual-tone, in a combination of leatherette and fabric upholstery. There is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display at the centre which is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV also gets wireless charging, air purifier, HD Display screen, eco-coating, Arkamys Sound, wheel air curtains and more. In fact, the SUV comes with Hyundai's Blue Link connectivity tech that makes the Venue India's first connected SUV and adds 33 new features, 10 of which are India specific.
Available in three engine configurations, the Venue is also equipped with many first and best-in-segment connectivity features. The diesel motor is the same 1.4-litre unit from the Creta and develops an identical 90 Bhp and 220 Nm of torque. The petrol includes an 83hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit and a new 120 Bhp, 1.0-litre turbocharged mill. The 1.2 petrol is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the turbo-petrol and diesel unit get a 6-speed manual. The turbo-petrol can also be had with a 7-speed DCT automatic. On the safety front, dual airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors are standard across the range with the top variant getting six airbags along with ESC (standard on automatic variants).
