NADA Forms Skills And Capacity Development Unit; Conducts A Workshop

NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal has announced the formation of a 'Skills and Capacity Building' unit for the purpose of conducting long-term training programs for engineers and technicians working in the Nepalese automobile sector. NADA has formed a six-member unit under the chairmanship of NADA's Vice-President Rajan Babu Shrestha.For this purpose, NADA in association with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), recently organized a two-day workshop at its secretariat to enhance the skills and abilities of technicians working in the field of electric vehicles.A total of 7 technicians from EV-importing NADA member companies participated in the seminar.  Similarly, Khemraj Kafle, FNCCI's curriculum development expert, provided training to the participants. This is the first time that such a workshop has been held.NADA believes that such training programs will help to increase the skills and knowledge of technicians working in the Nepalese automobile sector. The organization also announced that different types of technical training programs will be held in the future in cooperation with FNCCI.NADA is also working on signing an agreement with Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment (ENSSURE), a SDC project implemented by the CTEVT with technical assistance from Helvetas, for the capacity building of mechanics working in automobile workshops.
