Hozon Auto and CATL have entered into an agreement to enhance their collaboration, encompassing the utilization of CATL's fast-charging battery, Shenxing, in Neta electric vehicles. The partnership extends to the supply of lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries, the development of novel technologies, and expansion into overseas markets.
Previously, the two companies collaborated on various initiatives, such as the joint development of CATL's integrated chassis (CIIC) in January. This technology integrates critical components, including the battery, at the vehicle's bottom, eliminating the traditional battery pack. The first model based on the CIIC chassis is expected to be launched next year.
CATL's Shenxing, introduced in August, stands out as the world's first 4C superfast charging LFP battery. It boasts the capability to provide a 400 km driving range with a 10-minute charge and over 700 km on a full charge. Overcoming the limitations of LFP batteries in cold temperatures, Shenxing achieves an 80% state of charge (SOC) in 10 minutes at room temperature and a 0-80% charge in just 30 minutes at temperatures as low as -10°C. Additionally, it maintains optimal acceleration performance even in low temperatures.
This innovative battery not only achieves rapid charging but also ensures a long driving range, fast charging across diverse temperature ranges, and a high level of safety through structural advancements and intelligent algorithms.
Meanwhile, Neta, under Hozon Auto, is gearing up to launch two new models. The first is an electric SUV, Neta X, which is a revamped version of the Neta U-II crossover, scheduled for release on October 18 in China. The second model, with the code name EP 32, is a mid-size crossover equipped with BYD's lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery and a 231-hp electric motor, offering an impressive 500 km range.
