Skoda Auto has introduced the second iteration of the Kodiaq, featuring a revamped interior concept. The all-new Kodiaq showcases a 13-inch infotainment display, Skoda Smart Dials equipped with haptic controls, and an updated range structure with Design Selections. Also debuting are the latest iterations of the LED Matrix headlights and the Dynamic Chassis Control system.
On the outside, the striking TOP LED Matrix headlights immediately capture attention, while internally, the focus on sustainability is evident through the use of recycled textiles and leather derived from an eco-friendly tanning process. Expanding by over six centimeters, the Kodiaq now provides additional space for up to seven passengers and their luggage. Additionally, Skoda has enhanced the model's aerodynamics by incorporating active cooling shutters and redesigning the front and rear bumpers.
In addition to the revised range structure, featuring distinct Design Selections and optional packages, the Kodiaq showcases a novel interior concept. The infotainment display, now freestanding with a diagonal size of up to 13 inches, can be optionally accompanied by a head-up display. Notably, the selector lever has been relocated to the steering column, contributing to a sleek and uncluttered appearance for the center console.
A noteworthy innovation for Skoda, the new Skoda Smart Dials merge haptic controls with a 32-mm digital display, offering intuitive and customizable access to various vehicle and infotainment functions. The introduction of the Phone Box allows for inductive charging of two smartphones simultaneously, providing 15 W of power while also ensuring device cooling during the charging process.
The latest Kodiaq is offered with two diesel and two petrol engines, delivering power outputs ranging from 110 kW (150 hp) to 150 kW (204 hp). A significant addition is the introduction of the Kodiaq's inaugural plug-in hybrid powertrain, boasting a system output of 150 kW (204 hp) and an all-electric range exceeding 100 kilometers. Furthermore, the 1.5 TSI with 110 kW (150 hp) marks the introduction of mild-hybrid technology to the Kodiaq. The 2.0 TSI with 150 kW (204 hp) and the 2.0 TDI top diesel with 142 kW (193 hp) come with all-wheel drive as a standard feature. All powertrains in the new Kodiaq are paired with a DSG automatic transmission as standard.
The Kodiaq has achieved a production milestone of 841,900 units, finding buyers in 60 markets globally, and has garnered over 40 international awards since 2016.
