Omoda & Jaecoo to Launch Two New SUVs in Nepal: Jaecoo J5 and V23

SPG Automobiles, the sole authorized distributor of Omoda and Jaecoo in Nepal, marked its first anniversary with a special event in the capital. During the celebration, the company announced plans to introduce two new electric SUVs to the Nepalese market – the Jaecoo J5 and the Jaecoo V23.

The J5 EV will look identical to its ICE sibling, however, it will get EV focused elements like a blanked off grille, aerodynamic wheels and more.  Inside, it is expected to get a a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging. Comfort features will include heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, and push-to-start. 

In the Chinese market, the V23 is offered in three trims, with both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options, and a maximum CLTC range of 501 km.

The Youth Edition with RWD features a 100 kW (134 hp) motor, 180 Nm torque, and a 47.28 kWh battery, delivering a 301 km CLTC range. The standard RWD trim offers the same motor and torque but with a larger 59.93 kWh battery for a 401 km range. The AWD variant adds a 55 kW (74 hp) front motor, boosting combined output to 211 hp and 292 Nm of torque, paired with an 81.76 kWh battery for a 501 km range.

The V23 features modern tech, including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, and air conditioning, with higher trims offering leather seats. Convenience features include keyless entry, electric-adjustable seats, and a rear-view camera. The electric SUV is also equipped with essential safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), parking sensors, and a reverse camera.
