Sokon EC36 Electric Passenger Van Launched in Nepal at Rs 45.50 Lakh

The Sokon EC 36, the newest electric passenger offering from MAW Vriddhi, has been introduced in Nepal for Rs 45.50 Lakh.

At the launch event, Nepalese Superstar Rajesh Hamal was revealed as the brand ambassador. Representatives from Sokon China were also present. Tushar Gupta, CEO of MAW Vriddhi Commercial Vehicles, along with Rajesh Hamal, presented keys to the first 41 customers, marking this significant milestone.

The EC 36 is an 11-seater EV passenger van that boasts a range of 300 kilometers. Its 60 KW electric motor can generate 200 Nm of torque and has a maximum gradeability of 40%. The EC 36 features a 42 kWh CATL battery, which can fast charge from 20% to 80% in 1.3 hours and from 0% to 100% in 2.5 hours. Its impressive ground clearance of 188 mm, combined with the above features, makes it suitable for our terrain.

Additionally, the van includes safety features like ABS, EBD, reverse radar sensors and a rearview camera. It also has a regenerative braking system, a feature generally found only in more expensive EVs. The van features a touchscreen multimedia infotainment system that is convenient to use.

Commenting on the launch, Vishnu Kumar Agarwal, the chairman of MAW Group of Companies, said, “MAW has prioritized not only quality automobiles but also service and spare parts. We believe in building trust by prioritizing the needs of our customers. We are proud to be partnering with SOKON and launching the EC36 into the Nepali market. We believe it will be a success and fulfill the requirements of our customers.”

Similarly, Vivek Sikaria, MD of MAW Vriddhi, emphasized, “We are proud to be delivering 41 Sokon EC 36 Vans. It is a historic moment. At MAW Vriddhi, we have always prioritized service, spare parts, and customization.”
