This same battery pack is used in Gachaho, a Tokyo-based battery-sharing consortium created by - Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki, to promote battery sharing and the use of electric two-wheelers in Japan.

Classified as a Class-2 light electric scooter, the e-Burgman will be powered by an AC synchronous electric motor that has a peak output of 5.36 BHP and 18 Nm. The lithium-ion battery pack enables the e-scooter to cover 44 km on a single charge when cruising at 60 km/h, which isn’t a lot, but this claimed range figure will most likely increase when it enters real-world tests.

While the e-Burgman has been officially announced, it will take some time to hit the Indian shores. Currently, the e-scooter is being tested in Tokyo, Japan under an advanced field program to collect essential data.

The Suzuki e-Burgman will compete with the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak and the upcoming Honda electric scooters in the Indian market.
