Tata H5 Bookings Open In Nepal; To Be Revealed At The Upcoming NADA Auto Show 2019

Tata Motors Nepal has been teasing the H5 for quite some time now and with the much-awaited reveal at the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2019, the Indian carmaker has begun accepting bookings for the SUV. Interestingly, the company is also providing a 120% refund challenge on bookings made, subject to terms and conditions.

The SUV is based on the company’s new OMEGARC platform, which is derived from Land Rover’s legendary D8 architecture. It will come with a monocoque chassis, and Tata says that the H5 has been extensively tested for a cumulative distance of 2.2 million km, across various terrains.

With contemporary SUV design proportions, the H5 sports a flaunting roof with bold chrome finisher, flared wheel arches and dual function LED DRLs accentuating its overall bold presence. The interior design is clean, clutter-free and offers a balance of style and practicality. On the inside, it gets soft-touch upholstery and an 8.8-inch floating infotainment screen which supports smartphone connectivity and is linked to a JBL sourced sound system.

The H5 is powered by the  Kryotec 2.0 Diesel engine, which delivers 140 PS power and 350 Nm of torque with an Advanced Electronically Controlled Variable Geometry Turbocharger (eVGT) for excellent low-end torque and linear power delivery.  It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

The H5 also gets three Engine Drive Modes (Eco, City, Sport) which is married to the ESP Terrain Response Modes(Normal, Rough, Wet) to ensure handling over every kind of terrain with steering tuned for excellent driving dynamics. The front suspension and hydra bush have been carried over from the D8 Platform while the rear twist blade suspension has been specially designed by Lotus Engineering UK.

Top-of-the-line safety features include an Advanced Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with 14 added functionalities ensures stability in difficult driving conditions. 6 Airbags (Driver, Co-Driver, Side Seat and Curtain Airbags) and Child Seat ISOFIX Anchor Points.
