Budget Impact: Tata Tiago EV Price Hiked; Now Starts at Rs 27.49 Lakh

With the government's recent hike in excise and customs duties on EVs up to 50 kW, Tata Motors Nepal has increased the pricing of its Tiago EV.

The Tiago EV debuted in Nepal in September 2023 with an initial price range from Rs 21.99 lakh for the base XE variant to Rs 27.99 lakh for the top-end model. Subsequently, all variants received a uniform price reduction of Rs 1 lakh in April 2024. However, due to recent tax hikes, the prices have once again risen.

[table id=279 /]In our market, the Tata Tiago EV is offered in three variants in a 24 kWh battery pack, delivering an MIDC-certified range of 315km. As of now, the company only offers the Long Range variants in our market.The Tiago EV offers a peak output of 49.01 kW and an instant full torque delivery of 114 Nm. The electric hatchback also comes with two driving modes – City and Sport along with four levels of regen settings in each drive mode. The battery and motor also come with 8 years or 160,000 km warranty.

The Tiago EV is enhanced by leatherette seats, contrast roof, fully automatic climate control as standard, projector headlamps and cruise control. The electric hatchback also offers its customers rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, electric ORVMs with auto fold, push button start/stop, and a puncture repair kit for emergencies. Customers will also enjoy an 8-speaker Harman Infotainment System with Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity.
