Hyundai is set to make its debut in the mainstream electric vehicle market in India with the Creta EV. Based on the Creta facelift scheduled to be unveiled on January 16, 2023, the Creta EV will be positioned below the Kona Electric and directly competing with the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti eVX.
As per recent reports, the Creta EV is rumoured to feature a 45 kWh battery pack supplied by LG Chem, Hyundai’s global provider of lithium-ion battery packs. Notably, this places the upcoming Creta EV behind its competitors, the MG ZS EV and the forthcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX, in terms of battery size.
Sharing its electric motor with the latest-generation Kona Electric, the Creta EV's front-mounted electric motor is projected to deliver 136 BHP and 255 Nm of torque.
The global debut of the Creta EV is slated for the second half of 2024.
