Wuling Air EV, an electric car that General Motors' joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) sells in the Indonesian market, has made its debut in the Nepalese market. The Wuling Air electric car is being offered in two different variants, Standard range (200km) and Long range (300km), at a price of Rs 24.99 Lakh and Rs 30.99 Lakh each, respectively.Based on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform shared with the wildly popular Hong Guang Mini EV and Baojun KiWi EV, the Wuling Air EV is a four-seater three-door hatchback for urban driving.The Wuling Air EV is being offered with a power/torque output of 30 kW/110 Nm and its lithium Ferro-phosphate battery delivers a range of about 200 km on the standard range variant and 300 km on the long-range variant. The standard model comes with a 17.3 kWh battery while the long-range version comes with a bigger 26.7 kWh battery pack.While the standard version takes 8.5 hrs for a full charge from a 2 kW charger, the long-range variant takes only 4 hours for a full charge from a more powerful 6.6 kW charger. The company provides a warranty of 8 years or 1,20,000 km on the battery.On the outside, the Wuling Air EV is characterised by its compact dimensions. The Air EV measures 2974 mm in length,1505 mm in width, and 1631 mm in height. Similarly, the wheelbase measures 2010mm. The electric hatchback is distinguished by the illuminating Wuling logo in the middle and an extended LED DRL which sits above it. The illuminating logo also serves as a charging port. The Wuling Air EV is being offered in four exterior colour options - Pristine White, Galaxy Blue, Peach Pink, Lemon Yellow and Avocado Green.Inside the cabin, the Air EV gets a 10.25" floating dual-screen setup on the long-range variant. This includes one each for the infotainment system and the driver info display. This variant gets a carbon black interior with synthetic leather seats and a leather-covered steering wheel. The standard variant, on the other hand, gets a light grey cabin and a 7" TFT screen.[nd_gallery images="37127,37125,37126"]In terms of features, there will be drive modes, hill-hold, keyless entry and start-stop system, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, TPMS, rear parking sensor and camera, etc. The electric hatchback also gets voice command, remote diagnosis and remote functions.The Wuling Air EV which is quite popular in the Indonesian market has been introduced in the Nepalese market by the Bajra Group. Bajra Group is a renowned business conglomerate with a presence in real estate, sanitaryware and bathroom fittings, and the electric two-wheelers segment.SAIC-GM-Wuling is a joint venture of GM, SAIC and Guangxi Automobile Group based in Liuzhou, Guangxi. In 2021, SGMW exported over 140,000 units from China to more than 40 countries and regions.
