All-New Hyundai i20 Launched In India

Hyundai has launched the much-awaited third-gen i20 in the Indian market with prices for the petrol versions starting at INR 6.80 lakh and the diesel version starting at INR 8.20 lakh. The all-new Hyundai i20 gets an all-new interior, a completely revamped exterior and comes loaded to the gills with features.

Hyundai will offer the all-new i20 in four trims – Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O). Customers can choose from a variety of Petrol, Diesel and Turbo Petrol BS6 engines and transmission options that include First-in-Segment Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT), 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and Manual Transmissions.

The all-new Hyundai i20 will be offered with two petrol and one diesel engine options in India. While the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor makes 83 BHP and 115 Nm of torque, the 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engine produces 120 BHP and 172 Nm of torque. The 1.2-litre engine will come with the option of both a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. Similarly, the 1.0-litre will come with a 7-speed DCT gearbox and an iMT gearbox. The diesel engine is a 100 BHP, 1.5-litre unit which is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Based on Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language, the all-new Hyundai i20 gets a new, wider ‘cascading grille’ design, new headlight and DRL design, and new taillights with angular Z-shaped LED inserts. The all-new i20 will be available in 6 colours – Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Metallic Copper. Additionally, it will also be offered in two dual-tone options – Polar White with Black Roof and Fiery Red with Black Roof.

On the inside, it will get an all-black cabin with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a BOSE sound system, wireless charging for smartphone, an air purifier, and many more, based on the selected variant. It will also receive several safety features such as parking sensors, a rearview camera, and ABS and EBD as standard. Hyundai says the all-new i20 is built on a superstructure that comprises of 66 % Advanced and High-Strength Steel.

Hyundai India is also offering the new i20 with up to 5 years warranty with its ‘Wonder’ warranty package, along with 3 years of roadside assistance (RSA), and a 3-year subscription to its BlueLink connected tech. The upcoming Hyundai i20 will rival the Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz.
