Changan Auto has successfully celebrated its first anniversary in Nepal. MAW Vriddhi Autocorp, the authorized distributor of Changan Auto introduced the premium range of Changan Vehicles in Nepal a year ago. Changan Auto entered the Nepalese automobile market with its premium Alsvin sedan which was later followed by the Hunter lifestyle pickup truck.

The Hunter pickup truck is powered by a 1.9-litre turbo diesel engine that produces 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.  Complementing the striking exteriors of the Hunter pickup truck is a feature-loaded cabin. In terms of comfort and convenience, the Hunter comes well equipped with electric adjustment seats, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, automatic AC, rear ac vents, and a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Infotainment duties are handled by a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with phone mirroring.

Similarly, the Alsvin sedan is equipped with a 1.4-litre Blue Core petrol engine that delivers 99 bhp and 135 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The sedan comes with a wheelbase of 2535 mm and provides a ground clearance of 165 mm. Similarly, boot space capacity stands at 390 litres.

The journey of Changan Auto Nepal began with its pop-up showroom at Soaltee Hotel. The Alsvin was displayed on a ramp on the premises of the Soaltee Hotel. In addition, Changan Auto also conducted activation events in various housing apartments, shopping malls, and hospitals.

Moreover, the company opened its authorized service center in Sitapaila, Kathmandu. This was the first time in the history of the Nepalese automobile industry that a company established its service center even before the launch of its showroom.  After the introduction of the Hunter lifestyle pickup truck, the company began its operations in its exclusive showroom at Naxal, Kathmandu.

The sales number is quite impressive as well for Changan Auto. Alsvin became the fourth best-selling mid-size Sedan whereas Hunther became the sixth best-selling pickup truck in its first year of arrival.
