Changan Auto is gearing up to broaden its product range in Nepal by introducing its first electric vehicle, the Deepal S7 EV. With sleek design aesthetics and cutting-edge features, the Deepal S7 is set to redefine the electric SUV experience in Nepal. Before its formal launch in Nepal, let’s delve into the details of the Deepal S7.

Deepal S7: Battery and Motor Capacity

The Deepal S7 will feature a 66.8 kWh Ternary Lithium Battery to provide a WLTP range of 410 km. The Deepal S7 incorporates a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor to deliver 99 kW and a peak torque of 320 Nm.

Deepal S7: Exterior, Interior and Features

Positioned as a mid-sized electric SUV, the Deepal S7 adopts a five-seater layout. The Deepal S7 is based on Changan’s latest EV-dedicated modular platform called EPA1.

The exterior and interior features include a panoramic glass roof, electric hidden door handles, power tailgate, front/rear boneless wipers, front trunk, 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat with 4-way power adjustment lumbar support, 4-way power adjustment front passenger seat, perforated synthetic leather seats, zero-gravity front seats, ventilated driver and front passenger cushion and backrest, 3-zone climate control, and rear touchscreen a/c control panel, among many others.

The interior is minimalistic with a 15.6-inch central control screen that has a built-in Deepal OS, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and a 53-inch AR-HUD powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The Deepal S7 also gets Wireless Apple Carplay, a 14-speaker Sony music system, a 360-degree camera, a dashcam, an In-car monitor, hand gesture recognition and several cabin intelligent scenario modes. In addition, the front passenger has access to a 12.3-inch smart screen for entertainment which is hidden inside the sun visor.

Deepal S7: Safety and Driver Assistance System

Apart from several active and passive safety features, the Deepal S7 also supports several advanced driving assistance functions such as integrated adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear cross-traffic braking and safe distance warning, among many others.

Deepal S7: Dimensions

The Deepal S7 boasts dimensions of 4750mm in length, 1930mm in width, and 1625mm in height, accompanied by a 2900mm wheelbase. Similarly, the ground clearance stands at 175mm.

Deepal S7: Colours

The Deepal S7 will be available in six exterior shades – Comet White, Nebula Green, Lunar Grey, Eclipse Black, Sunset Orange and Cosmic Yellow, and two interior colours – Orange and Black.

Deepal S7: Expected Price and Rivals

The Deepal S7 is expected to be priced between Rs 72 Lakh- Rs 75 Lakh in the Nepalese market. The Deepal S7 primarily rivals the Tesla Model Y.
