The MG Cyberster electric sports car has made its global public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023. Due to go on sale in China in just a few months, the MG Cyberster will be among the first electric drop tops to go on sale in several countries. Although MG hasn’t confirmed the Cyberster for Nepal at this stage, unconfirmed reports suggest that limited units of the electric roadster could be available in our market.

The MG Cyberster is a two-door, two-seater sports car drawing a number of styling cues from the classic MGB Roadster while also ushering in new high-tech features, including an interactive gaming cockpit and 5G connectivity.

The Cyberster’s intelligent all-electric architecture will enable an approximate EV range of 800km and deliver a 0-100km/h time of less than three seconds, while the body is designed to enhance aerodynamic performance, the classically shaped MG grille also serves as an air duct to ensure airflow over the car’s chassis.

The Cyberster will be available in two power motors –  single- and dual-motor form, with the base RWD single motor version offering 201 hp, while the dual-motor version will deliver 335 hp. The Cyberster will be offered in two battery pack options – 64 kWh and 77 kWh and a limited top speed of 200 km/h.

Signature exterior highlights include a distinctive low nose and curvaceous rear haunches, as well as striking new features including scissor doors and a Kammback tail.  It features classic round MG headlights, a slim grille design, and interactive ‘Magic Eye’ headlights that open when switched on. Other striking details of the MG Cyberster are the ‘laser belt’ LED strip down the side of the car and the outline of the door, which follows the direction of the LED strip.

Its sports car profile has a distinct two-stage shoulder line, with a flattened ‘Kammback tail’ rear, accentuated by unusual ‘hacker blade’ alloy wheels. The tail lamps are of LED construction and are integrated flat into the rear of the car.

The “digital fibre” interior design theme adopts a driver-centric layout, with a separate cockpit for the driver and passenger and a large-sized LED instrument cluster with a second central screen. The screen ahead of the driver presents all of the critical vehicle information in a modern but minimalist style, while the central display houses its more interactive features.
