CG Motors Inaugurates New GAC Aion Showroom in Kathmandu

CG Motors, the official distributor of GAC Aion in Nepal, has opened a new showroom in Thapathali, Kathmandu. During the event, the company showcased the Aion Y electric crossover, as well as unveiled the Aion ES sedan and the Hyper HT Electric SUV.

The showroom inauguration was attended by several notable figures, including His Excellency Mr. Chen Song, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Binod Chaudhary, Chairperson of Chaudhary Group, Mr. Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of CG Motors, and distinguished representatives from GAC Aion.

GAC Aion, the electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of GAC Group, currently offers the Aion Y electric crossover in the Nepalese market for Rs 54.99 Lakh.  In our market, the Aion Y features a 61.54 kWh LFP battery to offer an impressive range of 405 kilometers (WLTP), paired with an electric motor producing a maximum power of 100 kW and a peak torque of 225 Nm, which allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds.

While CG Motors hasn’t released specific technical details or expected launch period for our market, the Hyper HT offers four battery options internationally: 70 kWh, 72.7 kWh, 80 kWh, and 93 kWh, with CLTC ranges of 550 km, 600 km, 670 km, and 770 km, respectively.

In terms of size, the Hyper HT measures 4,935 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,700 mm in height, with a 2,935 mm wheelbase. This mid-size fastback SUV is built on the AEP3.0 third-gen electric architecture. The entry-level Hyper HT includes a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, LED headlights, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 22-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system. The top trim adds features like gull-wing doors, heated rear seats, a parking system, and powered doors.
