BSA Reveals New 650cc Gold Star Retro Motorcycle

BSA Motorcycles, one of British motorcycling’s most famous names, has unveiled the Gold Star 650 classic motorcycle. The once-legendary marque will be officially relaunched in Birmingham at the Motorcycle Live Show on Saturday, 4 December 2021. The new BSA motorcycle has been designed and developed in the UK and built in India.

Classic Legends, part of the Mahindra Group, revived the classic motorcycle brand. Anupam Thareja, co-founder, Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd. Thareja also revealed that special attention was given to every detail right from the lines, to the font to the tyres. The BSA Gold Star was originally sold by the brand between 1938 and 1963 and was powered by a range of engines between 350 cc and 500cc. The new 2022 Gold Star model is likely to be powered by the newly-developed 650 cc single-cylinder DOHC engine that will develop about 44 bhp. The BSA Gold Star 650 will directly go up against the Royal Enfield 650 twins in India.

BSA Motorcycle Company has received a grant of 4.6 million GBP from the UK Government to develop zero-emission motorcycles. These are being developed at the company’s new technical center in Coventry, UK with production set to commence soon.
