Citroen C5 Aircross SUV Arrives In The Capital

Last December French auto major Groupe PSA announced plans to bring its Citroen brand to Nepal with the appointment of Shangrila Motors Private Limited, the authorized distributor of Peugeot brand vehicles for Nepal, as the authorized distributor of Citroen brand vehicles for Nepal. Now, the C5 Aircros SUV has arrived in the capital signalling a possible launch in the pipeline. The C5 Aircross premium SUV is priced between INR 29.90 lakh and INR 31.90 lakh and is available in two variants, Feel and Shine, in the Indian market.

The C5 Aircross is based on Groupe PSA’s EMP2 platform. The SUV measures 4,500mm in length, 1,840mm in width, 1,670mm in height, and 2,730mm in wheelbase length. It has a ground clearance of 230mm.  Under the hood, the C5 Aircross features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which delivers 177PS and 400 NM of torque and is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.  Also available are drive modes and a Grip Control system: Standard, Snow, All Terrain, Sand, and Traction Control Off. Citroen claims a best-in-class fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl.

The C5 Aircross SUV features an 8-inch infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, air purifier, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and park assist. There’s plenty to talk about the styling too. The SUV gets dual-beam LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a split front grille, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, an upright rear end, and split LED tail lamps. The SUV also offers a boot space of 580 litres which is expandable up to 1630 litres. The C5 Aircross has a 52.5-litre fuel tank, and it’s available in a total of four colours, with a contrast roof available as an option.

The C5 Aircross will take on the like of Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Kodiaq and the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace, etc. Although there are no words on the pricing yet, expect the C5 Aircross SUV to be priced around Nrs 1.40 crore.
